more piccies
My small contribution, didn't take many this year
I thought crowds were down, as were exhibitors and the size of some (eg I think Carbetec stand was a lot smaller)
the place became really quiet when the school kids left

The Carbitool people were giving you a show discount of "less GST", meaning they'd pay it and you'd pay the pre-price.....still not cheap but better than nothing.

Had a good day at the show today. I agree, it's much smaller than last year. I got the impression numbers were down today but maybe the people just weren't where I was Was very quiet at the stand during my shift.
I did manage to sign Colen Clenton up to the forum though. His user name is Colen, so say hello and make him welcome if you see him post.
Pac man, Groeneaj and shanesmith80 helped me spend plenty of money but I think I got a few bargains.
A track saw and rail, Kreg K4, some more Berg socket chisels (yes Nick, I got a 1/4" ), big box of assorted Screw-It screws, some box hardware, a small square and an awl handle for leather work, some router bits and I forget what else but I'm sure there was something.
Everyone seemed to have special show prices so if you are after something in particular it might be worth dropping in.Those were the droids I was looking for.

Show Specials
Always enjoyable to catch up with Forum members and many of the regular exhibitors.
I was after the auto adjust Bessey Toggle clamps. Carbatec had them so I was pleased. Unfortunately it took about half an hour for them to work out how to take the money from the guy in front of me. I did get a free jelly baby and an extra discount.
We found Mirka and their Abranet sandpaper and annoyed the people on the stand for quite a while. Christos was worried it would burn his delicate hands when sanding turnings. We took some pieces over to Steve at the Wood turning demos and we gave it a good test. We were all impressed with the results.
Christos and I now have several sheets to test at home and Steve said he would get some too.
I love looking at the timber and managed to get some great pieces from Mal and Greg at their Boutique timbers display, and a few others.
I think I have got everything back home and managed to avoid swerving caravans. Bugger about your excitement Crowie but it sounds like you have some impressive defensive driving skills.
CheersScally

For a while there I thought that I was not able to make it at all. I attended today and will be attending tomorrow. I didn't really have a list this year but I do have a couple of things that caught my eye.

Great Pics Crowie
Sorry I missed you I was there today and bought some nice pieces of redgum burl and and a 3 piece buffing wheel from Mjing but maybe I am blind but I did not find the Forum stand I even asked the person I bought the burl from and he did not know and apparently he is a member and all I got was that he had not seen Neil so he did;nt think there was a stand there.
