Not likely, it would be too expensive, those bloody sawstops couldn't cut through a single frankfurt skin. It would be much easier and cheaper to use a blunt butter knife.

Re the competitions, let just say stuff the whole thing. What a total BS. I won't waste my time next year.
    Scotty
Why didn't you win, those other horses only looked half finished compared to yours. And yours was the only one with any real looking muscle definition. And the square rumps on the other horses looked like something I'd make.

    Glad I'm forgiven.
I doubt I'll go next year, this was the crappiest show so far, apart from the good things I said earlier.
    Cheers

    Jim,

This horse isn't good enough for first, second or third place. I don't really know what to say.

You do mean IF don't you Scott

The categories suck judges must have had a skin full or bought rounds by the winners

I'd call for a swab if I was you. You were robbed.

I dropped into the show and noted Wongo's horse. Fantastic. It looked like it was about to start trotting around. I didn't think a rocking horse could look so good.

I commented last year on the 'judging' and its peculiarities - like classes that had no first place on display. Also that there seem to be no readily accessed, written criteria for the judging.

It would be more honest if they just said ' We put all the entrant's names in a hat and just draw at random for 1st, 2nd & 3rd.' There seems to be no other system involved & I have come to the conclusion that any ranking there is worthless - I just have a quick walk through & look at what I think is good & ignore the rest.

Last year the winner in the general woodworking category was a cabinet made by a TAFE student. It was made of ply and veneer and the design wasn’t special or anything outstanding.

I went to have a closer look after the presentation. The dovetails and the construction of the doors and drawers were not pretty. I still couldn't figure out why he got the gong.

They do tend to give a lot of prizes to the students.

    Hey Wongo,

I had a good look at your table and rocking horse at the Sydney Show and I reckon they were outstanding. Like lots of novices on these forums I only wish I had the skill to make something half as good as your stuff.

Forget about the judges and just keep making stuff that you are proud of - and remember to post lots of pics here so I can see how it should be done.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

    Wongo,

    What Geoff said x 2.

I read the plaque on your horse, I reckon you would already have impressed the most important judge anyway.
