150mm cut?
I have some 150 x 150 poplar that I want to cut into cubes. I have a Lucas Mill that could do it but with only 4 or 5 teeth on the blade cross cutting isn't easy. I want them square and smooth so a chainsaw is not on. I was suggested to try a bandsaw would this cut straight enough? Then the problem of sanding the end grain flat. Any advice welcome.

A good hand saw will do it.

Yes but I have trouble making hand saws go straight, but it is worth a try.

Glenn,
If you use a 9 1/4" saw with a guide and cut from two faces you should get a square cut with fairly clean faces.

Hi Glenn,
Re. getting the end grain flat, you could try sanding the cubes on a linisher. Perhaps that guy that runs the training workshop in Willy near Shiver Me Timbers might rent you some time on one. Can't remember the name of his business at the moment, except that it I think it had the word "wood" in it.
