How "ancient" do you want? Do you want the whole tree? Slabs? Size?
What do you want it for? What sort of condition?

Mebbee. Depends on how old "ancient" is. Oh, and how LONG is a stick?

Ancient like 5000+ years old and black, not grey. Length? Minimum around 500mm-600mm to as long as available.
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Martix,
Have you tried this mob? http://www.timberlinedesigns.com.au/...ientredgum.htm
The timber used on this site is supplied by AncientRedgum Pty Ltd.
My stuff is nowhere near that ancient. My stuff would only be a couple of hundred years and I'm not a hundred percent sure if it's red gum or red box.

Guys,
Thanks for the responses. In answer to the questions:
- I want it 5000+ yrs
- in good condition
- I need about 1000mm * 200mm * 25mm (ish).
I'll try and track down Ancient Redgum P/L and post what I find out.
Regards,
Mike.

There was a fair bit of even older timber dredged up from Homebush Bay in the leadup to the Sydney Olympics - you might want to make some enquiries to find out who bought it, as it was sold off by the Govt. under tender. Also Botany Bay near the runway extension into Botany Bay.
There was some on display a few years ago at the WWW show in Sydney - looked like black driftwood, IIRC it still had reasonable colour inside when cut.
