Default This is what a bottle of Scotch looks like

    Hi All

A relative on my sons school friends said that they had a silky oak sitting in their back yard and the timber was mine if I wanted it.

Went and had a look today. The trunk was still standing and apparently the top was taken off about 18 months ago. Total length was about 4.5m.

He dropped it and I chopped it and all it cost me was a bottle of scotch.

There's 2 lengths at 1.7m and one at 1m plus three 60cm lengths that were taken at the time the top can off. These have a bit of rot in the end that was against the ground but should still be able to get something out of them. I'll begin breaking it down tomorrow. Probably too much for my personal use so there might be some on offer.

    cheers

Noooooooo! Too far for me. I've just been offered 300mm diameter Silky but yours would open up far more possibilities in furniture making.
