Best choice for outdoor wall cabinet?
Hi All,
I'm planning on making an outdoor wall-mounted cabinet to house a 32" LCD screen. Approx dims will be 200mm deep, 900mm wide and 600mm high. Its going to be bolted to the brick wall, its under a patio so it doesn't need to handle heaps of direct moisture, but it will cop a bit of spray occassionally. Obviously it needs to be fairly sturdy for security reasons. I'll be painting it, so finish of the raw material not so important. Would like to keep the price low.
Thanks in advance!

I would use plywood, one sheet will do. Probably 15mm 'A' bond, BB or CC plywood. You can choose from lightweight hardwood ply, standard hardwood ply for around $60 a sheet or BB hoop pine plywood for around $90 a sheet.
A bond means an exterior-durable glue has been used.
BB or CC refers to the level of finish on the face and back, A is the highest level, D is no sanding. If you're painting it, I would think BB or CC would be adequate.
Try AWP at Sumner Park if you're out that way.
Cheers
Michael
