I live on the Northcoast of Australia, so the camphor on my property provides an abundant, readily available timber supply. Unfortuantely I haven't yet the facility or the skills to process the wood for furniture etc, and I've gathered that camphor is bad for fireplaces (specifically with regard to chimneys), but is it ok to burn camphor in other ways?

Please comment on the following questions:

1) would it be ok to mix camphor in with good firewood to prolong a wood supply - especially if the camphor is given a few years to dryout and the flue and fireplace is regularly maintained?

2) Given the regular maintenance: would it be ok to burn in an enclosed furance/incinerator for heating and/or power generation?

if not indoors...

3) would it then be ok to burn camphor outdoors, either in a large to moderate bonfire, or even in a small campfire setting?

4) Would it be ok to burn camphor outdoors in brick or stone BBQs? (Espcially if the flue is regularlity cleaned)

In answering these questions, please feel free to comment on any health and respiratory complications that may be assoricated with burning camphor: EG excessive smoke output, and food contamination.
