Hardwood in GA
Anyone know of a good source for hardwoods in central Georgia? Or a supplier with good prices and fair shipping?
I seem to be having a hard time finding anything other than red oak, some maple, walnut and birch here, all of which seem way to expensive and the quality is very limited.
Thanks,

Brian, not too many people in Australia would be familiar with timber suppliers in Georgia, maybe better trying an American site such as Wood Central.

Brian, I used to go to GA Hardwoods in Marietta and Peach State Lumber near the airport in Kennesaw. Also, check out Atlanta wood products in Smyrna, for better prices check out Suwanee lumber in the Duluth area, they're in the yellow pages.
You mention central GA, I guess that's Macon/Dublin area, the Atlanta businesses should ship there on request.
I don't know if all the above are still around as I haven't been there since 1999. You may have more luck trying news://rec.woodworking

Brian, try www.woodnet.net, you might have better luck there.
Groggy, you have a bloody good memory, shot down in flames again.
Cheers
