MGP12 in Canberra?
Hi Folks,
I'm a newbie to the forum. I'm building a pergola and would like to use MGP12 for the beam 'cos I'm at the edge of the MGP10 / F5 span tables. When I go to the bog standard places like Bunnings they claim its impossible to procure.
Does anyone know if you can procure MGP12 in Canberra, and if so, where? Need lengths of 190x45. I could use a hardwood but as I need to paint it that seems a waste.
Cheers
Ben

Try FAW Building Supplies in Mitchell - (02) 6213 3700 - but I think a lot of the higher grade non-hardwoods have been replaced by engineered ply beams these days.

thanks
Thanks for that,
I tried FAW. No go.
I read (somewhere in the forum I think) that MGP12 is often used in roof trusses, so I rang a few. Canberra Roof Trusses (CRT) in Mitchell have 190x45 MGP12. They dont usually retail timber but helped me out...legends.
Thanks
