native trees for the chop
Hi everyone
Due to the widening of Great Eastern Highway in Rivervale (Perth) some magnificent, large native trees are about to get the chop (along Nannine place).
Would anyone be interested in saving these for use in a productive way like woodworking, otherwise they are destined for wood chips, what a waste!
Obviously these are still growing trees and thus "green" and will need to be dried for a while. But what a great opportunity.
If you can help please contact Lauren Ettridge at the CityEastAlliance (contact below)
Many Thanks
Herman
Good morning Herman
Thank you for your email and interest in the project.
You are correct - a lot of these trees will be felled to accommodate the road widening works.
As part of our commitment to sustainability and environment, City East Alliance does intend to recycle the trees where possible and has contacted the local Woodturner’s Association to ascertain if these trees are suitable for use. Unfortunately the Association’s representative has not responded to our queries. If you have any contacts that we could approach, please feel free to forward details.
I trust the above addresses your concern. Should you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me on the number below.
Thanks and kind regards,
Lauren Ettridge
