Olive score
Picked up a few pieces of olive today. The tree was over 100 years old and was about 500 mm at the base coming up quickly to about a 350 mm trunk that was about 1 m long and then lots of 150 mm diam branches. Originally I was hoping to get the whole tree but the tree lopping lads got to it first and turned in into turning blanks for their mates They left behind the base, a piece of trunk, one of the main crotches and one of the main branches about 150 mm x 1m long (not shown here) - I was very happy to get these
Suould be good for some too handles or two. Heavy stuff too!

Interesting to see what it mills up like Bob. I have been watching a large stump that was created about three months ago near work that has a monster root bowl on it. I drive past everyday thinking I should offer to dig that out for them, but can I be bothered
You might convince me to be bothered

Well I work well for commission so if someone can put me in touch with them I am quite happy to dig it out and crate it to them for the right price, no swaps though, who wants one of their cars
One of the things putting me off is that in the time it would take me to dig it out word would have gotten around to the point where half the school kids would be there heckling me

Nice score BobL,
Olive wood I've used in woodturning and made a couple of babys rattle due to the high oil content of the wood, natural and safe to use.
I did an almond tree removal about a week and a bit ago and couldnt bring myself to chip all the wood, so brought some home, prob about the same size and a few smaller pieces. Prob never get round to using it tho!
