    Question Pine furniture

I remember with fondness the furniture we had when I was a kid in Denmark .
It was made from Norwegian pine and I loved the smell of it.
I believe the latin name is Pinus Sylvestris L. and it is also known as Scots Pine.
I would love to make a table like we had when I was a kid.
Is that timber available in Australia?
If it is, WHERE DO I GET IT
    TIA
    Wolffie

    Question

Wolfie there may be suppliers like Lazarides in Brisbane who can get the timber for you.

If a bit of recycling tickles your fancy another source would be wooden crates and boxes that come in from Scandanavian countries.

Hmmmm, also called 'deal'......so that's what those Americans are talking about when they say deal timber. I just thought they'd got a good price.
We don't know how lucky we are......

You can take the girl out of the country.... but you'll still need to give her a shed!

I lived most of my life in a suburb of Copenhagen called Frederiksberg then, when I got married we lived in the middle of Sweden first, where the Bofors Canons come from, then in the middle of Copenhagen, almost next door to where Princess Mary lives , then in another suburb called Vanløse, before we came to Australia.
    My father was from Falster

    Thanks for the tip.
I don't think too many crates come up my way though.

Do they still float it down the rivers as they did years ago?
It was amazing to see the loggers run around on the logs while the were racing downstream.

I didn't see any logging being done at all while I was there , apart from a few trees on the side of a highway alteration being bitten off with one of those huge log harvesting crawler machines .
I was there for a few months , just after MidSummer , so maybe the elk hunting was more important

Yeah, the floating down the river (doesn't that sound like a song ) is done in spring when the snow and ice melts and the rivers run FAST.
