    Default Queensland timber identification

Wondering if anyone knows what this timber is? I bought it last year from the Boutique Timbers auction, and the pack was sold as 'QLD Mixed', so I would assume it can at least be narrowed down to QLD. My thought are perhaps Queensland Silver Ash? It has quite wavy grain throughout all boards.

Looks more like Silver Silkwood to me: grain looks more open then Silver Ash. If so consider yourself lucky... Silver Silkwood aka Putts Pine is the better timber of the two.

I would guess some kind of Eucalypt based on the wavy, open grain. I'm no expert though.

Sorry, I know that is zero help...

    Cheers,

    May well be Silver Ash
Doubt whether it is Silver Silkwood (Findersia Acuminata)as it is very seldom milled being a fairly obscure and rare species
Best you contact Mal from Boutique timbers as they were the ones that sold it to you...MM
