    Default seasoning camphor laurel?

I just had a camphor laurel felled at my place and had the tree loppers save me two pieces of the trunk. Size is approx 3mx600-800mm. Question is do I leave it as is to season or slab it up now? Obviously it will be much easier to cut now, but what do you reckon's best?

    G'day.
    Slab it now.
If you leave it, as it drys, the tension on the wood will cause checking and possibly bad heart shakes to develop.
    Hooroo.

Generally wood will dry faster and with less splitting if it's cut into boards ASAP and stacked properly on fillets to dry. If you paint the ends with a wax emulsion wood sealer (or some old paint if you have nothing else) it will reduce the splitting on the ends.

    Cheers

My 3 year old trunks, well seasoned etc, jumped and crackled as I cut to slabs. All slabs ended up different. Slab now (its easier cause its green) and do as above.
