    Thanks Ray & Rob.

I'm definitely gonna be more studious as to the timber suppliers and their stocks at this year's Sydney WWW show. Previously I've been intent on scoring new toys (tools & machinery) at each show, but intend to carefully select some unique-ish cellulose this year - particularly some white stuff. Maybe even stock up on some nice burls & slabs?

New Vicmarc VL300 long-bed lathe about to arrive, as well as some exxy ornamental equipment from Sweden to compliment it, so I'll have to start cranking out some pieces to justify the hellish expense - or so I'm told.

My vote goes with QLD Silver Ash, as previously mentioned.

Here's a pic of the end-grain of a piece, along with a bit in an inlay, contrasted with Rosewood. It's pretty white.

Matthews Timbers, are at St Marys and Anagote Timbers at Marrickville. Went to Matthews years ago and was very impressed. They have a lot of timber and you can go through the racks and pick what you want.
Haven't been to Anagote yet but it's on my to do list.

    Good luck.
