suitable bow woods in western australia
hey guys,
i am new to bow making and just wondering if you had any ideas on woods suitable for bows that are available in the perth to margret river area. also any useful tips on the building proceess

In PNG where most combs and virtually all bows are made from wood, black bean is the timber of choice for both.

There are a few good aussie timbers out there but one of the best bow making timbers is osage orange if you can find a good straight piece.

Osage Orange is also known as "Bois d'arc" or "Bodark." French for "Arch" (bow) of "Wood."
