    Default Unusual Cutting Board

I've been down in Sydney for the past week looking after my eldest son who had a operation to fix his jaw alignment - sorry to my fellow forum members for not saying hellow whilst down there, but was only there Mon to Sat morning and was pretty busy doing what had to be done.

Anyway, while shopping at Hornsby one day I picked up this chopping board for $10 (reduced from $27) at Kmart. It is 350mm dai and 38mm thick. I was going to make my own, but at that price why bother. If I didn't have to bring them home on the plane I would have bought 2 and used the timber for pen blanks.

It only says hardwood, made in Vietnam. Any ideas of timber type anyone?

    Cheers
    Neil

    I got one too!

Mine is more conventional wood, same shape tho. Didn't see yours when I was at the shops, they must all have gone.

No idea about the wood tho, but it is true wood. Just sharpened my knives, as per other thread, and managed to slice into the board already. It was so well make and finished, I thought it may be fake.
