Brushes for Router?
When using the big Triton today, noticed a lot of sparks, so checked out the brushes, one was so worn it fell to pieces .
From what I can gather from this thread brushes are no longer being made
Is this true or is there a readily availabe source of brushes within Australia?.

Go to Woodworking tools from The Woodworking Centre and ask them. The part number is TRA055.

Many years ago the brushes for the starter motor went on my Yamaha motor bike and bike shops only sold the complete starter motor for $510 and not replacement brushes. After a bit of running around, a tool repair place put me onto C&C Industries which was located in Wollongong.
They were great, I gave them what was left of the good one. They matched the grade of the brush, pigtail length and also the connecting lugs. All I had to do was cut it down to the right size for the brush box and bed them in. This was years ago and it cost me $32 for custom made brushes.
Doesn't hurt to send them an enquiry. C&C Industries.

Ray - thanks for the link. Their website says they have some parts for Triton routers in stock, so I've emailed Woodworking Centre to see if I can get any bits for my MOF001. I'm after the TRA378 Worm Drive and some TRA389 Brushes. Happy to pay the airmail if I can buy these parts in the UK.
The re-birth of Triton seems to have progressed a bit further over there than it has here. I note that they are also offering new MOF001 routers??
Hope your new improved hip is behaving itself - you certainly seem to have healed up very fast after such a major operation

Cruzi - I'll post back here if I get any reply from the UK outfit re. Triton parts. Postage to get small parts here from the UK wouldn't cost that much - maybe we need to arrange a group order for Tritoneers?
I've had no response at all from the local contact given on the new Triton webpage, so UK looks the only way to go.

Hi, was in Carbatec in Auckland last week. Heaps of new Triton stuff in stock and also a full
range of spare parts were to arrive the next day. Cheers

Thanks plindsay - might drop them a line if no luck with the UK mob.
Somewhat ironic that Triton's "re-birth" in Australia seems to be moving so slowly compared with other countries? I wonder if Carbatec Sydney would consider stocking any Triton stuff again, or ordering in spares?
Either way, looks like the days of the ridiculous eBay prices for Triton gear may be numbered....
