Default Difference between MK3 and WOrkCentre 2000?

This has prolly been done before but my searching skills are letting me down tonight so Im opening this topic up again.

What are the basic differences including pricing, value for money considering functionality etc ?

Please do give me your thoughts.

Oh no, not this debate again..........

But anyway, assuming you are looking at second hand stuff for both, (you cant buy the MK3 any other way), then go with the 2000.

It's got better features, has better tracking, is made for all the latest add-ons (although others will tell you that you can adapt anything) and has much better resale value. In short, unless you are stretched on budget, just get the latest model. (A few on ebay right now actually)

And then, when (not if) you decide to upgrade, you'll get your money back again.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

    Cheers Gumby,

Noticed the tritons on ebay a few moments ago- appears to be only one workstation 2000 and its already fetching $200 with 9 day to go.

Be intersting to see what these go for- may be woth buying brand new if whats available on ebay doesnt come with a few of the needy accessories.

Bunnings down the road has them at $550 stand alone.

Not in a rush- and not willing to spent countless hours modding acc's just so they suit the MK3 either

Well, just as an example, i just sold mine on ebay for $760 with the triton saw, bevel ripping guide, wheels and height winder, instruction video, spare saw blade plus a home made cross-cut sled. keep looking on there, you need a local seller first off. Forget any attempt to post. (that's a WC2000, about 18 mths old)

Default mk3 and wc2000 is like windows 3.11 and windows xp

mate if you want to buy a system which works well and does all you want of it buy the mk3 triton or the computer that runs windows 3.11. to this day i dont do anything with my computer that i counldnt do with a pentium 90 and windows 3.11 in the mid ninetys. but as bits on the computer started to fail, eventually i couldnt get printers etc which had drivers for win 3.11 so i had to upgrade.
they dont make printers with drivers for win 3.11 any more and they arent making accessories or upgrades for triton mk3 either so as parts wear out eventually you will need to upgrade. Nothing lasts for ever and what you save on an older system may or may not be beneficial. only you know how long you need the thing and how much you will be expecting of it and the final decision is up to you.
Personally, i would buy somtehing i can buy upgrades and accessories for for the longest time.

hope this helps and isnt too cryptic,
    Doug
