Default Heads up on this ebay seller

I purchased a "new" sliding extension for big bucks from seller "alpha-70" as a Buy Now item as I needed it urgently. The guy sends it to the wrong address with my name misspelt so no chance of finding me in White Pages. Somehow the guy up the road (who literally arrived home to find a triton extension table dumped on his front porch) worked out it was mine, buggered if I know how!

As it turns out I finished the job so didn't unpack the extension until much later to find out 2/3 of the fasteners are missing (bags 2 and 3), the table locking "things" (still don't know what they look like), plus the brackets to hold it on to the saw are also missing Instead there's a notepad with somebody's shopping list on it, yep, I kid you not! In other words I got a bunch of parts I have to now try to make work.

Seller's response, "I just bought a heap of Triton gear and sold it on ... wouldn't know anything about that ... must be the courier's fault ... should have told me earlier ... sucked in nothing you can do about it". Of course I was foolish enough to trust that it was indeed "new" and didn't assemble it straight away, instead waited until I next needed it. Despite the complete cock-up on the address I left "neutral" feedback as I didn't want to damage his positive rating. According to his messages he's almost sold out of the Triton gear but still a few things up there, so take this as inside feedback to my Woody mates as I can't change the ebay feedback.

Few lessons for me from that one ... and if somebody can send me a photo of what the table locking "things" look like I'll have a go at making them too. So far made everything else.

    Cheers,
    Pete

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've put up a copy of the instruction and assembly manual for the ETA300 here which shows the latches from a couple of angles. I've assumed that it's the large extension table (the latches are identical, anyway), but in case it's the smaller one, you'll find the relevant document here. HTH

Thanks Ray, no actually it is the smaller table. The prices being asked for the larger table were simply stupid. I downloaded both instruction manuals before buying and could see they're almost identical so figured I could always make up a larger sliding table if I had the rest of the components. It may not have a scale on it but i could probably live with that. Eventually I'll move on from this anyway to a "proper" saw table, but just need to get things organised first. Bit of a catch 22 really, the time to really need a good saw is when you're building everything, but you don't want to be constantly working around a cabinet saw when you're building everything

The clips for the router table WERE in the box, so I made up a piece of 25 SHS and put threaded end caps on it to attach it to the 2000. Just a very tiny hole enlargement in the saw was all that was needed there so at least the extension is basically working. I'll make up some little plates to move it further away from the saw so the scales calibrate correctly but at the moment have worked around this by rotating the plastic riser blocks 90 degrees and attaching by 1 bolt only.

I can now see the locking clips attach to the pivot points on the inner rail and lock the table. Pressed metal is a PIA to replicate so it could be a case of locking with clamps etc and hoping for the phoenix of Triton Manufacturing to hurry up and rise from the ashes so i can once again get parts.

Sorry, Pete, I should have guessed that you would have downloaded the manuals.

I suppose that clamps could work, but another thought occurred to me - perhaps you could drill two small holes in the runner, with matching holes in the inner rail, then use a simple pin (could even be a screw or nail, I suppose) to hold the table still. Like this:

The holes would need a downward entry angle to stop the pins from falling out.

That sounds like a great idea Ray, cheers for that.
