Default Spotted - a new Triton Electric Planer

Found this on the US Triton website, and alongside is 'my' GMC Wood Razor

Don't get me wrong, I like my wood razor, and the fact that it is in Triton Orange is not a bad thing, and in fact I prefer it to the current Australian Triton electric planer:

It was unexpected more than anything - the 3 bladed one is not listed on the Australian Triton site, so I don't know if it will be available here - kinda hope so, although given the GMC one already is, and is a very competitive price, I'm doubting that the orange version will reach these shores. My guess is the GMC one was evaluated, and deemed worthy of the upgrade to orange, and sent to the US market rather than the GMC blue version.

The first two won't fit into the Planer Kit. The last one does though.

Curious, that it is so obvious that the first Triton in the pics and the GMC are identical but what will the price difference be???
Have a nice day - Cheers

    not US mate, Canada.
Why would you want to buy a Canadian version when the TP720 is sold in Australia??

    3 bladed vs 2
3mm depth of cut vs 2mm
    More comfortable handle design.
The GMC (ie blue) version is $99 or thereabouts vs $199 for the TP720, so would guess the orange version of the Wood Razor would be similar (and would go better with my shed's colour scheme

Sorry - thought it was the US one as I saw it on www.tritonwoodworking.com/tritontools/ which I took to be a US site, but having looked closer now appears to be all of North America (based on the listing of dealers stocking, or at least supplying Triton).

Not deliberately trying to play devil's advocate, but you did ask why I'd prefer the Canadian one to the Australian one!

    No worries Stu.
I dont think we would bring the 3 bladed version into OZ as we do it in GMC.

If things change I will keep you informed.
    Cheers,
