So... someone tell me I did the right thing!! (Superjaws)
So I was in the local Bunnys store (Bunbury WA) today... initially to get a welder which by the way I didnt get... and saw a Triton Superjaws for $140... somehow it managed to wangle a ride in the trolley right beside the vice clamps (for the welder that I didnt get) and the 2 scaffold stand things that I will be getting 2 more of tomorrow (at $59 each irisistable!)
So I got it home and while the young fella unpacked the scaffolds and I tried but failed to unblock the damned blocked sewer line... finally I got ?????? enough to say "STUFFIT!! get a flamin plumber Ive had enough" gawd that job stinks!... I did a quick change a big wash with dettol and buggared of out to the shed checked out young Joshys handywork putting the scaffolds up (easy as!) and I into it with the Superjaws!!...
Man talk about disappointing you know I was expecting a great time putting it all together... but straight out of the box a couple of wriggles and a couple fo tugs and whalla! a superjaws was stanging right in me shed door!! WOW!!... no seriously I was expecting to spend half an hour or so in blissful wonderment of putting it together but snap crackle pop its there!... so I grabbed a length of 100 year old chook house timber and laid it on bought the moving end of the vice to meet it and stepped on the lever thingy a couple of times mmmm wont go down no more? so must be locked eh? so let go the timber... it stays put!! YESS!! so I lean on it... stays put... Ben arrives get him to lean on the other side and I lean on it... stays put... Ben leans I lay over it... STAYS FRIGGIN PUT!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!
I will be back in there tomorrow and in the Mandurah store next Tuesday... and will be getting at least one more... I can see one living in the Effy for the weekends when go go bush to get wood... I can see one getting the engineers vice addition and the other will stay as it is and live in the shed permenantly while the one in the Effy will get the timber log cramp addition
What an increadibly usefull peice of "stuff"So thanks to whoever it was that advized me that I should get one your a bloody legend!
I still refuse to pay their $150+ price for a little trimmer router... just cant bring myself to do that... and theres and Mitre 10s price for the ali case ones is well over 200 and with tradetools having the ali cased one for $98 they will get an order from hereBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! If there is any 'must have' Triton item, it's the super jaws. I bought a set when they first came out and couldn't do without it now. Get a set of the log jaws too.
[Bought a Triton plunge drill yesterday, also excellent quality.]Geoff

New one rates well acoording to Triton Japan (Steve) and Wood Borer I think. Apparently no dead spot in the travel (old one needed a packer sometimes) and the pinch spot above the release handle is gone.
Agree Dingo, they're a ripper. I take mine when chasing firewood if cutting up a lot of branches, old fence posts etc. Invaluable.
I have the log jaws but don't usually use them, the standard jaws hold most wood just fine. Would love the heavy engineers jaws though.

I had to jump in (first post) and agree that this is a great bit of kit.
More stable that I could have imagined. Folds up to bugger all.

Sooo? I did good huh!
heres how far its gotten... busy as hell just now sorting the new house stuff out but will get a whirl with it on the weegen after its brother arrives... gotta go get me welder later and I reckon theres every chance in hell that anothery will dive into the back of the effy!
So can you find those log jaws at Bunnys or do you have to order them special? Didnt have enough time to have a good look around just saw them and they chased me outta the store... turned my head for a mere few seconds and they were in the back
ooh Pat? as you can see theyre the ducksfrigginknuts ubloodybeaut newys!I'll be using them mostly out in the bush so I reckon that cross bracing would be a pain on the uneven ground

Oh goodness gracious me!
So I went past Bunnys today in the sigma thinking being so small I would be safe...
BUT... when I got home I found these jumped out of the back and into the shed!!... the log jaws yelled that his brother was coming to stay next Friday and the engineers jaws muttered that his sister pair would be here the same day!
Bloody invasion of the Tritons!!
oh and the 1.2t crane of course to lift the tools onto the mobile bases... gotta watch me ol back eh?
Up to Carbetex on Tues next!! Whahoo... actually theres not much left I need to get really so maybe a few router bits and blades possibly an 8in grinder but thats abou... mmm whadda bout...?? nah!! shes all good!Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!!
