    Hi,

I don't believe the collet upgrade caused my problems, I think it merely revealed them a little earlier than otherwise. I can't see how a collet installation could break my router!

Anyway it's at the repairers hopefully have some news on monday

    Cheers
    Jason

I finally remembered to contact Geelong Power Tool repairs to find out the status of my router. Apparently it's fixed. I can pick it up on saturday morning. The computer repair record says 'repaired brush holder'. So if indeed it's fixed I am thorougly confused All up cost $15!

It's quite possible it will misbehave again, who knows.

I will update this thread with what happens saturday once I get it home.

    Cheers

I finally picked up my router and it is working. Shame is that the repairer did not replace the brush cover that I had supplied so I am stuck with a glued up one that may fail under vibration of use. Unfortunately I was not able to talk to the repairer who did the work so don't really know what was fixed.

Anyway for now its back in business and I guess even if the brush cover does fail I can take it back to be replaced with the one I already purchased no troubles.

So for now seems like a happy ending as I have the triton router back with the new collet installed.
