Default WC2000 Rip fence scale error

If I measure from the fence to the first mark on the scale ( 60mm distance), there is an error of nearly 1mm on the rear scale, but the front scale is spot on.

can anyone please advise how I can fix this?

    regards,
    Jill

    Default Replacement

    Jill,

The rip fence arms are fairly easy to replace.

This sounds like a warranty claim. Ring GMC to have a replacement arm sent out.

P.S. The screw is a tight fit when being removed or re-inserted into the arm. At times it seems like an I.Q. puzzle. Just angle the screw, and keep turning it.

Also,f you can do this while keeping the fence upright, you can avoid the captive nut inside from falling out of its locators. If this does happen, it is not too hard to pop the black end cap off and hold the nut in with your finger.

P.P.S, There are times when the gap needs to be 59mm and others when it needs to be 61mm. This is because the sum of the variance of about 5 or 6 points can all be within tollerance, however compound to give a 1 mm error.

Before replacing the arm, test everything once assembled. (I am guessing however that you have already done this and hence realised that something was off!
