Hmm, nice, simple, effective and efficent work flow.
I do like the way your mind works Peter. (I could say the same about many of you kind souls that share so many of your little tips and tricks gained from amny years of experience and experimentation.)
All the best

Hi all. Managed to find a few hours to fit the handle to the new dovetail saw I am making. Seemed a straight forward job. Used a Stanley 271 to level the bottom of the
slot.
Completed a small amount of reshaping especially around the top area of the grip as per IanW,s recommendation. Next stage will be profiling the outside edges.
Length of blade is 8 1/4 " . Depth of blade is 2 5/8 " .
Heres a couple of photo's.
