45 handle replacement
Hello
I am trying to refurbish a Stanley 45. I was looking for some
help with replacing the handle. I could use some advice regarding
the removal of the pins that hold the wood grip in place.
1. Could someone comment on a graceful way to remove the pins
2. What would be a suitable replacement for the pins
3. Any better ideas ?
4. How about the removal and replacement of the pin on the adjuster.
My plane is errrr... ummm pretty crudy and so may be obscuring
what is obvious to others.
Thanks
Al

I'd like to know too. Got two handles, different problems on both(!). There seems to be at least one pin through both wood sides and through the metal 'jam' in the sandwich. I can't work out how to either drill out the pin or wedge it out with snipe nose pliers. I'm not rushing to irrevocably muss up those nice handles.
