$5 at a garage sale
Picked this one up today at a garage sale.
Gave it a quick cleanup and a sharpen.
Looks as though is a #4 (9" long 2" wide)
Has a raised casting MADE IN USA in the body.
The lever cap has a transfer on it but it was a bit hard to work it out,
Polished the blade and there it was
MOHAWK
MADE IN U.S.A.
SHELBURNE
You can make out parts of that on the lever cap.
Any it looks like a good user. Try some curlys later.
Tried to post some pics but keep getting an error. (try later)
Anyone know aything about these planes

Hi Bleeder,
$5 well spent. Millers Falls is the parent of that baby.
If you go to near the bottom of this page there's a thread headed Silex Tool Co. Post No 16 has a link to Push drills kindly provided by Heavensabove. Open that then click on Millers Falls Home and select planes and ther's all the info you want.
Regards,
Geoff.

They're Miller Falls' equivalent of Stanley's 'Tradesman' line of plane. Nothing wrong with them but they weren't top of the line. The one I have doesn't have an adjustment screw for the frog, that sort of thing.
Very nice looking blade with that one you have.We don't know how lucky we are......

Thanks a lot for all that info. It makes curlys quiet happliy. Bit of a nick in the blade so I'll just sharpen it out.
Anyway $5 for a user is not bad.
