Deceased estate tool valuation Sydney?
A good friend of mine recently purchased a deceased estate. The owner was a timber worker & there is loads of hand tools. I must have counted at least 10 Stanley planes in a brief look the other day. He said there is a couple of pallet he still hasn't looked through, but there is still some gold to be unearthed. My mate has now interest in the hand tools except for there dollar value, where I'm interested in finding a value on these items & selling them on this forum to fellow wood lubbers!
Im looking for a fellow forum member who has a good knowledge of older hand tools that would be able to come inspect some items & give a rough value on them. I would reimburse you for your time of course. My workshop is at seven hills, or I could travel to you if needed.
thanks

Hey Crowie,
Will have a look, I mean they should go to a good home for a fair price, that is of course after I fill my toolbox!

G'day Dangerman,
TTTG doesn't actually do valuations I but I'm sure there are many members willing to help you off-load your tools for you! We're holding a tool sale on 24feb2013 at the Brick Pit Sports Stadium, Thornliegh. I think tables are $40 each. Contact Clynt Sheehy and he'll give you the drum. Check the link above and scroll down the upcoming events.
Of course eBay is an option too. Best way to work out the value of something is to see just how much people are willing to spend on it.
Cheers,
Virgil.

Hey Crowie was just About to say what Virgil said in regards to the ttg, it does say they don't do valuations but they will sell for a commission.
Virgil, I had seen the tool sale at thornleigh & thought this would be a good option. At the same time I would have to recoup my mates outlay & turning up with a van load of tools, with no idea of value may be disastrous! Also time & business restraints might be an issue to get the tools sorted in time.
I'm all for these tools going to good homes for a reasonable price. These tools will be for sale to forum members only. (No Fleabay or gumtree).
i was at my mates today & he opened a rather large chest 800x400x500, it was full of fasteners in there original packaging.... I mean the old school flat blade slot long before cordless drills & Phillips heads!
