Here we go again
Another "historic" plane:

Whoever is knocking these out shows some imagination and workmanship.
Pity about the fairy stories.

eBay is turning into a closed shop - consider all sellers as genuine and consider the buyers as shonks. It pings me off.

I'm impressed with how the frog has been let into the plane body
quite unique.
But I wonder if it works.

Isn't this the same turkey that was selling the sawn-off #4 that refused to answer questions about it?

Yes, the set has lasted remarkably well - still stamping crisp letters after about 150 yrs. (wasn't the first one brought to our attention dated in the 1850's?) And there must be something about those letter stamps, 'cause each successive user fels the need to stamp his name in the same semi-circular pattern!
The other wooden planes seem to be reasonably well-made, though I'm a bit dubious about this one - the frog screws may hold in redgum, or they may not. He could have found an old transitional Bailey type & used the frog mechanism from that - would have been plenty around in 1952, and it would look a lot more genuine.....

I challenged him again on the authenticity of his planes and the chopped #4 Stanley
"YOU HAVE NO LIFE PEANUT...."
He's up to answering questions now, anyone else up for it?

Malmsteen? The only connection I have heard between Planes and Malmsteen concerned the Swedish guitarist Yngwie J Malmsteen who famously gave an earful to a passenger on a plane who poured water over him:
"As stated in an issue of "Guitar World" magazine, he titled this album after an infamous 'airline incident', which occurred on a flight to Japan during the 'Odyssey' tour. He was drunk and behaving obnoxiously, until he fell asleep and was roused by a woman pouring a jug of iced water on him. Enraged, he shouted, "You've unleashed the f**king fury!" The audio from this incident was caught on tape by then-fellow band member Anders Johansson."

I reckon he deserves a free-for-all from the forum. A barrage of questions from here, there and everywhere might bother him some.

pretty clean and crisp lines on the plane for a 56 year old plane.
Wish they were all as well kept and little used as this!
