    My plane collection ....

    Back row - Front to back Carter #7, Falcon-Pope F6, Falcon-Pope F5 1/2, 2 No. Falcon-Pope F5, Falcon-Pope F4 1/2, Stanley #4 1/2, Falcon Pope 9in, Wooden Scrub.

Front row - LV Apron plane, Falcon Pope F220, Stanley #71, Record 044, Stanley #78 and wooden rebate plane.

I'll be culling the FP's shortly (except the 9in) because they're the non-inherited ones and I'll never get around to restoring them........

    Cheers,

    Sam

I'd love to show you what I've got (Planes at least), But I'm still trying to figure out how to convert 1.5 MB pic's down to 100 KB. Better with tools than computers.

If you have Picassa it is very easy.
You can download Picassa from Google for free.
In the Picassa - open and edit mode, you can export the picture to anywhere on your computer. When you do this, it asks you what size you would like as a matter of course. Pick a size and export, and you are good to go.
When it comes to managing attachments on this forum, simply choose the exported picture and upload to the forum.
    Piece of cake.
    Cheers

or Paint.Net - easy to use, free and does the job well

I love the plane pics - my 'collection' is too small to post, though I considered posting a pic of a full length edge shaving taken from a piece of maple this afternoon...taken with a $25 Trojan from Bunnings. After it's been lapped, the blade flattened, resharpened and the sole waxed of course!!. I'm about to have one less after Sunday, Dad's coming to visit and wants his #4 back...oh well, the #5 Ern sent me is taking on everything I've thrown at it so not really a problem!

If you've got Microsoft Office, you should have Picture Manager, which does some very basic pic editing - crop, resize, auto correct colours, etc very quickly. Its in the Microsoft Office Tools on the Program list.

Thanks to guys who posted help for me. I hope the snaps have come through alright. I have some Japanese ones, H N T Gordon, Knight toolworks, Norris, Lie-Nielson, Stanley, (standard, bedrock, transitional), some cheap Asian, as well as some homemade planes, and a few odds & sods. My wife doesn't believe me when I tell her 88 planes are not enough. Still have quite a few more parts sitting there waiting to be made. So many planes, so little time.

Your picture posting was a success - congratulations.
What a treasure trove of handplanes.
The hardest part would be deciding which one to use.
Do you have some way of storing them all so that you can get to them?
Out of interest, what are the two longest transitionals - Sargent and Stanley?
The Sargent looks to be in lovely condition.
    Cheers

Hey Guys, thanks for the nice remarks.
Hi SG. The longest transitional has a Bailey blade in it so I'm guessing it might be a Stanley. The next one down has a a Fulton blade, so anyones guess. There aren't any other marks on them. I just keep them on open shelving, sitting on thin wooden stickers to keep blades off metal. I am going to try and upload a video on them on YouTube called "My Hand Plane Collection", if anyone is interested.

Sorry luckduck, but it took to much time and way to much money to help you out with the Bedrocks. Their all mine! he he he

    Consider it done.

    YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Type in -- MrHarleythedevil-- and then you can click on MrHarleythedevil, ( thats the link beside the dog in earmuffs,) with the couple of vids I have on there.
Steven Spielberg has nothing to worry about.
