Default Rebate plane in British style

    Hi,
I built my moving fillister and wish to share with you.

    Woods are beech and wengè.

    Giuliano,
    A first class job.
Did you use an old blade or make one? In fact I am intrested in how you made the whole thing.

    Regards
    John

Lovely work. A wip would have been great. How does it go in use?

Wow! A moving filister is something I've been wanting for ages and I toyed with the idea of making one but you have set the bar extremely high!

    Beautiful.
...I'll just make the other bits smaller.

    Grazie John,
I made blades myself. The main blade comes from a larger blade I cut. The nicker was a 8 mm plough cutter.

i have a short video of plane at work....now I am travelling.....late I'll post it.
    Ciao

Another excellent bit of work Guiliano.

Those modern metal clamps holding your work spoil the atmosphere, though. You need some nice hold-downs. I see your bench dog holes are about 25mm plus diameter - you could make yourself some of these , they would be much more suited to your style......

    Cheers,
    IW

    Cheers,
Wooden Holdfast? Why not? I have not a lathe but a 1" beech rod is easy to find. Thanks

    Hi Giuliano

Terrific plane - both in design and the way it works.

    Very nice indeed!

    Regards from Perth
