Record 040 plane
Whilst hunting around in my dad's garage came across a record 040 plane. Kinda looks like a tiny rebate plane, with a depth stop and side fence, but it's only about 6" long. I have tried searching the web for info on this plane, but can't find anything. Do you chaps know anything about this plane?

Hi Record collector , are the depth stops on the 40 the same as the 43 and if so ....has any one got a spare one that they'd care to sell me for my 43? (also blades, I've only got one... its in the shed....can't remember what size it is)

G'Day
Yes the depth stop is the same on No 040 and No 043, The No 043 came with 3 cutters 1/8" 3/16" and 1/4" you could also get 4, 6, 9, and 12mm cutters for the No 043, I have seen cutters on ebay for the No 043, The first pattern of the No 043 had a single arm fence and changed to double arm fence and The No 040 came in to take its place with a single arm. Hope this is of some help
