    Hi all,

just been watching the exchange reates lately, and if you are thinking about buying some tools direct from the manufacturers in us/canada (Lee valley, LN etc...) now is the time, as the exchange rate is about the $0.89 mark......

Good suggestion...I sent a 10 piece order to Lee Valley this morning. I went through their catalogue line by line to pick out special things which I have always thought would be nice and that don't weigh too much. Shipping is the killer when you order only a few items. My order for 10 items is costing about US$500 and shipping is US$70. I don't know what will happen with Australian import duties.

    Regards

As long as the value of the order does not exceed $1000 Aust dollars, there is no import or gst fees applied

Some economists are tipping 1:1 by Christmas know others who have been buying $ on the expectation of a drop after election announced
Any economists in the house, threads on electrical work have dried up
