    Exclamation Veritas Price Rise

Just a heads up for all who are interested. I was talking with Carba Tec today, and was informed that the prices of Veritas planes etc were about to rise across the board by about 10% above their printed catalogue price. Their website (Sydney anyway) already shows price rises.
For what it's worth, they say that they are selling current stock at the old prices until it runs out. So if you were after something special for that special someone for Christmas, it might pay to give them a call soonish.
I'm not sure if I heard this correctly or not, but it was also mentioned that they were becoming sole distributors of Veritas product.
    Good Luck all.
    regards

I was lucky enough to place my order with Veritas about a week before the prices went up (August).

I saw on a forum somewhere that Rob Lee had said the prices needed to rise - not so much for the Canadians, but for those trading on the Greenback (who apparently were getting a pretty good deal - much better than the Canadians who were supposed to be paying 'about the right price'). As soon as I saw that, I thought I'd get my order in quick. Timing!

I, (and I am sure no-one else) do not want to see a price rise. But you have to admit that the Veritas equipment is still good value even after the price rise.

    Default MkII Honing Guide

There is currently a special through Carbatec on the Veritas MkII Honing Guide, as advertised through the Australian Woodworker Magazine. Apparently if you quote the Advertisement, the guide is $60 instead of the usual $69. I'm not sure when this special ends.
No I don't work for Carbatec. I thought that folks might appreciate being forewarned of the coming price rises.
    Good luck to all.
    Regards
    SG
