Default Damn - no more super saw - now what...

I have done all the research and have decided to buy a super saw with sliding table, but have been informed by JET that are no longer selling them. I know the carba-tec TSC 10HB is very popular, but I want a left tilting saw and to be honest the carba-tec is a little rough a round the edges......So my question to you (I know it's been done to death, but are there any new ones on the market, it's been a while since this debate has been updated) is, what should I buy, I am willing to spend $2000 + or - $500 and I will probably add a incra sliding table...I've had a good look round and no obvious table saws are jumping out at me....am I missing something....help.

I don't want to start the debate again so let me give you a short answer. Sliding table on a tablesaw is a waste of time. Forget about a incra slider. You are better off make your own crosscut sled. Use the extra cash to buy a better saw, and with up to $2,500 you can get a very good saw.

Especially if you don't have one.

I had one, on my supersaw, for a week. Didn't think it was a good idea I took it back to major woodwork, got a fixed wing and $300 cash. 5 years and 15,000 projects later I still think it was the right choice.

Check out the saw on offer from Gary pye. Gary Pye Woodturning :: Gary Pye Woodturning - GPW 10/12" Table Saw

can't fault mine. Didn't want a sliding table and only $1375 + good rates on shipping.

Interesting. I have been contemplating the super saw slider, but good to get your feed back.

Wiggy, you could check this one out:
    Woodworking Warehouse

There's no info on the website but I emailed them and it's about $1100 and does not have a fence. It is left tilting. Looks pretty good for my purposes because I want to put an LS positioner on and didn't fancy having a spare fence lying around (not to mention saving a few hundred hard earned).

Just remember that saw they have is the American saw and not the Euro version. Lots of subtle differences, but the main one (and for me a major one) is the riving knife is fixed and will not move up and down with the blade.

You could probably find a 2 nd hand mbs300 or similar for that

I highly reccomend the GPW 10/12 table saw , I bought one from the Townsville Jet tool shop , badged TJTS , but it's the same saw as Gary Pye sells .I also had my mind set on a sliding table like the Woodfast /Jet.
But after doing some research and asking some questions quickly changed my mind and went for a fixed table.
Alan at the Jet Tool Shop gave me very good advice.
Added an Incra 1000SE mitre gauge and haven't looked back.
Haven't bothered with a cross cut sled as yet
