Paulcall - help identifying this...thing...
Evening all,
Alongside my vintage [Well...early 1960's...we'll call that vintage for now...] Paulcall jointer / table saw - which a few of you have - I inherited the following piece in my collection. But, I'm darned if I know precisely what it's for.
It's labelled PAULCALL PART NO. DA7.7.79 and has the same blue/metal paint finish as the iron in the table saw combo. However, the bolt and guide holes do not appear to line up to anything on it. It's attached to what I assume is either a wooden fence, or a steadying plate, which is adjustable by turning the large knob. If anything, it resembles a router jig or similar, but does not have appropriate mount points for a plunge router or similar.

Any thoughts?
cheers,
Al
