Table saw rise and fall problem
Hi ,
I have a MBS 300 Saw a few years old. I recently realigned and during setting the blade for squareness to table at full height i discovered that as the blade was lowered it pulls away from square by 23thou (.7 mm). That is over the distance of full travel.
If i spin wheel to raise again , at any height say two turns it will be back at zero position again. I have looked and the only thing that appears to be causing the problem - well at least there is some play is at the worm and wheel. However there is no adjustment here as the worm is bushed through the tilt side of things and the other end is located with roll pins and locked in position.
I feel that if i can stop the play here it should fix it but have no way of adjustment! What do you do when normal wear takes place? throw out the saw?
Anybody had this issue or checked their saw?
I realise i can work around the problem but it is a nuisance if the blade needs a little height change. ( the change of tolerance would obviously be dependent on the ammount of height change which may be unnoticeable ) BUT IT IS ANNOYING!

The problem i thought it was does not appear to be it.
Went to carbatec armed with my dial indicator. The machine did not alter as mine does.
The play i was refering to is in their machine as well, so that aint the problem.
