    Default What type of wax for table top?

    Just wondering what wax everyone who uses wax to prevent rust on their table top is using. (I think that sentence made sense).

    I live in Japan and can't get specific brands, so if you could tell me the ingredients, that would be helpful. And the big question, can synthetic car wax be used?

    Default I'm not a fan of wax

    I usually clean the top of our panel saw with a rag and metho and once it is clean and dry, spray a layer of CRC dry glide (or any other dry PTFE film). Works much nicer than wax.

    I'd avoid synthetic car polishes because they are likely to contain silicone. Natural waxes such as carnauba are ok. Products containing beeswax and lanolin work well - you may find some natural leather conditioners that are suitable.

    Thanks guys, after a bit more research it seems that Johnson's paste wax is the go, so I am getting some of that shipped in from the States.
