    Hi Ben , On a moulder??

    The cutter is the profiled blade that removes the material, the limiter is a similar shaped but dull piece of metal designed to stop you from taking to deep of a cut and ending up with kick back etc.

    On the attached picture the limiters are the black pieces on the right you can see how closely they match to the cutters on the left.
