Hints on housing xmas pressy
Hi,
Before xmas I went to Carbatec and noticed they had the 20" thicknesser and 12" planer on special. I mentioned to my partner that these were the real bottleneck at my woodworking classes.
Yesterday the last of these (thicknesser) arrived.
Her ladyship, love her to death, decided they werent that big and we could easily fit them in our shed and they would be my xmas surprise. Unfortunately she had no appreciation that you actually needed a heap of room either side of these contraptions to feed wood in and out . Oh, she says guess we'll need a bigger shed .
We are building on 120 acres and I have a spot allocated for another big shed for a workshop.
What I would like to know is what is the ideal layout for a shed that will have the thicknesser, planer, eventually a table saw, morticer, router, bandsaw and larger workbench. The layour will dictate what shape shed I build. At this stage I'm thinking a 10mx10m shed with northern facing windows.
Any hints on setting these machines up?
