    hi all , firstly - thanks have learnt lots by reading through these pages .

    My first post ....... am a kiwi and NO animal husbandary isnt my hobby .

    She who must be obeyed has allowed me to spend money ! , i am looking at the Carba-Tec AW106PT thicknesser/jointer combo - this fits into my budget and also the space restraints in my shed .

    Has anyone had an experience good or bad with them ? any comments advice or alternatives in the same price bracket ?? appreciate any feedback , cheers .

    I have the leda which is similar in design and I got it for the same space restraints. I have found it to be good but like a lot of combination machines it doesn't do both things as well as individual machines and you have to plan your work. If you forget to plane a piece it requires setting up all over again.

    they need to be treated with more care because the table adjusters are more delicate and easily bumped out of line.

    The plus side is cost and the greater plane blade width
    Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.
