Default Delta 150mm digital caliper at Aldi $20

Aldi have 150mm Delta electronic digital caliper on special this week, starting today for just under $20. Just bought one and it's pretty good. comes with 2 batteries in wooden case, stainless steel blade and measures in inches or millimetres. Not bad for the money. Pictures are not very clear but gives an idea what its like.
    Reality is no background music.
    Cheers John

It does look pretty good, if it's steel then it's even better

Looks just like the one at Mitre 10.... Warrior Brand for $45 (comes in a plastic case). So the Aldi one is a really good deal.

My Physics students have just finished using it as part of a Physic SAC. Measuiring sag of wooden beams and it proved quite good for the price. Just wonder if it really can measure to 100th of a millimetre reliably.

At $20 if its good to 10th mm then you can't go wrong

They are excellent value, this is the third time in the last couple of years they have had those at that price and it is the third time I have bought one!

First one I am still using, second one I cut the end of and turned it in to an el cheapo digital height gauge, third one I bought today, just because

I'm sure I will find another use for it.

Also bought a little stand to turn an 115-125mm angle grinder in to a small cut off saw.
Works great on small stuff such as bolts and rods & pipes especially with a 1mm disk. Good value at $14.99.
They also had rotary hammer drills for $59.

I recently bought a couple of digital calipers from Dick Smith, for either $15 or $19. Same features - 6-inch, mm/inch.

Seems that's the new standard price for these on special...

    Cheers,
    Andrew

What arose62/Andrew said. Also sells for $19.95 or so at Jaycar, if you have a local Jaycar.

I'm lucky, a new Aldi opened in my local shopping centre. Well, lucky but probably $$ poorer and more storage space poor.

Looking at the Jaycar catalogue and the Aldi calipers in front of me, the Aldi calipers look more alike, and the claimed specs are similar to, the $39.95 Jaycar ones.

Got one. I agree about the reading them. I have a non digital one and nowadays I need to look real hard to read it.
    The Aldi one is easy.

I was in my new, local Aldi yesterday, and was surprised to find a bunch of Aldi 'suits' removing some of the 'specials' from the bins - not sold out, but being removed on the Saturday afternoon - too bad if you come in Sunday, and not 'on special until sold out'.

I was in our local Aldi this afternoon and they were filling up the baskets with Angle Grinders, Angle grinder Stands and Drill Stands. They also still had 3 of the ShpVacs left.

They were out of Digital Calipers though, had at least 50 or 60 on Thursday!

Calipers are still on the shelf here in Canberra City store but down to the last angle grinder and blades.
