French Plane
This plane came out of a French barn, it was given to a friend of mine. It now sits in his office.
Very unique design, when you hold it as intended, hand /palm on either side with with index fingers on the cross bar, it has a very nice balance.
In trying to learn a little about everything,
you become masters of nothing.

Nice plane, Iv'e seen them in books like that, US ones I think ,where the stick through the front was for a rope, someone pulled while the other held it down. The ones I saw were for large cornice moulds. Also seen them with a hole through the front for rope.
Never seen one with the handles on the side like that .
I wonder what happened to the other 1746 of them
