Nice set of light woodworking machines, very well set up on that bench. Obviously made for the "hobby" market probably in the 50s? That thought and the fact that it has only "JK" cast into the saw guard (both sides!) brings me to think that the brand on the fence should read J K HOBBY TOOLS !? Although googling JK hasn't brought any thing up yet!

PS I looked up Horby in the white Pages just to see if it was a "real "name and low there is, but one only listed nationally!! So I'm still thinking JK.

JK Hobby Tools is correct. Apparently popular around 1950 with hobbyists. Found a two page ad in a publication called "How to build a home workshop" put out by HWT in 1949/50 (price two shillings). Lots of tool ads and a few mentions of post war hand tool availability improving. JK made working "hobby sized" versions of most common woodworking machines all run off belts from a central electic motor. The manufacturer was "Mark Clifford P/L" at Albert Street Brunswick Vic. The next page was as an advertisement for "Wunderlich Durabestos" asbestos-cement building sheets. How times have changed!
