Scored this from another oldie some time ago. It is covered in grease, & sawdust.
Another old guy who has seen it says it is about 1930's era.
It has a two speed, fully-enclosed gearbox. Has a protruding gear-change shaft on opposite sides, one for high speed, one for bottom speed to which one changes the cranked handle onto. The faded paintwork reads, " Blackhawk, Tool Co., Minnesota, USA. " Has been well-used over the years, so much so that the original 1/2" chuck has been replaced with a late model Heavy-Duty Chrome chuck.
Plan to give it a bit of a clean up tomorrow, then put it where people can see it.
Unfortunately cannot take photo/s as camera is playing up, and nearest shop which sells digital carmeras, etc., is half hour drive one way," Thataway." and don't have spare time at present to drive," Thataway " !!!!
Anyway IF anyone is interested, or can shed more light on the old hand drill, simply add to this thread, or PM me direct.
