Ahhhh ... the Forsberg Effect
... a phenomenon especially noticeable around Magic Jack Forsberg's All Singing All Dancing Wadkin Museum-atorium ... and Diner.
Wicked stuff.
These thumbs are not big enough

It's on again
For those of you who don't know the Toowoomba Foundry auction is on again. Apparantly that wretched single bidder defaulted. Actually he may have been an agent for an international organisation. Either way it may be the subject of a legal action.
Starts on 1 November for those wots interested. No bargains though. Presumeably everything will be at least one bid under the winning price last time .

Prices?
Did anyone save save the prices the machinery got to last time?
Wadkin gear has been very cheap of late out here in Oz.
Tempted to spend a few grand and do a pretend Patternshop out in the shed.
Just for fun with no foundries left there's no work out there.
Had a RS 10 but replaced it with a 13 ft Sagar with a Hamada headstock could turn 8 ft dia no probs.
Same with the PK a Martin was a much better saw for the mix of furniture, model making and pattern making.
Still have the bobbin and a few 30in discs, next project is a single disc with variable speed so foam doesn't melt and do a number.
Too many cars and other projects but at the prices its very tempting.

Any more successes? I had a small win. Just crept in with $20 to spare in the kitty .

Yes, the 'Indian' buyer's financiers fell through...
I was lucky to get the Hafco pedestal drill press (1hp) on castor wheels, and the unbranded wood lathe similar in scope to the Wadkin.
10" centre height, 1m bed capacity. (3hp, 3phase motor).
Scored a 20" Sagar thicknesser today-no motor, but almost new blades-& a spare set, too.
Some assembly is needed though...(that was a private sale.)
