Goat Island Skiff Calendar 2013
The calendar last year was a really nice process, even if not so exciting on sales.
But who cares! It was fabulous and exciting and a great way to share the best photos of the year.
So ... why not do it again!
So post any new photos here.
I have an exciting addition to add in the next few days too
There are a lot of photos already on the facebook goat island skiff group. Click on the link and look down the list of posts for "Calendar".
We will put them all in a directory and allow people to vote for their favourites again this year.
MIK

Hey Mik,
Is an HD video frame capture sharp enough?

Possibly Andy - pop it up and I will have a look. I'll check against some of the other from last year. It would have to be pretty sharp though.

Photos by Simon Lew.
There might be a bigger one of this Dave La F
Another Simon Lew. Doesn't have to necessarily be from this year.

Please Please Please - any last minute candidates for the Calendar. I have collected them together on my computer.
Don't worry about what you think of them - just anything that strikes any sort of chord with you!

I know DaveF liked this one:
Also, this one which may be banal on the surface but it has deep historic undertones due to the mythical dock upon which she is tied. Might have to be cropped to straighten the horizon:
some moody and monochromatic rowing ones that will depress people. perfect for november.
huge versions available for each.

Larger version by request, but it turned out to be out of focus:

Here's a (slightly) larger version of my own favorite (I'm still struggling with the photographer to get the full set of the full-sized images):

And here's one demonstrating how easy it is to step the mast while afloat (in placid water and virtually no wind...)

That is a nice looking sail! You're tempting me!
That is a beautiful shot with the trees changing color in the background.

Howdy,
I'm in the Philippines now - quite recovered from being sick in the USA.
The calendar photos are up for your vote.
The preferred place to vote is on Facebook (but not the only place - simply by clicking on the photos you like the most and then select the "like" button which is normally just under the photo. Please feel free to leave comments or corrections about the text or any information or tall tale that relates to the photo.
Anyone can vote so get your friends along too.
Maximum of 8 votes per person.
For those who don't like using facebook you can vote for the pictures on Flickr - there is no "like" button but you can write that you like the photo in the comments section and I will add them to the rest of the votes.

Final 15 are here - CALENDAR 2013 Goat Island Skiff - final 15 - a set on Flickr
I might do some serious culling as some boats are over represented and some photos are a bit similar.
But I DO need hires version of all the pics now.
There are some from Christophe, SimonLew that I need. Clint is chasing up the small reach regatta ones - but maybe Christophe has a faster line to CapnJon who took the photos. Each of you has several.
Also I need a couple of backups
This one from DaveLaFont
Cheers!

Mik - it looks like you have a good selection already - but if you need some build stage photos as backups feel free to take a look through my photo album (I think they should be of high enough resolution):

This is one of my favourites so far...

MIK,
I just a sent you the high resolution version as well as a few options for backup photos (possibly also of use for next year's calendar) per email. Please let me know in case you have not received them.
An idea for next year, also to include the builders/users of other craft designed by you: what about a Storer Boats Calendar, to also have the Beths, OZ Racers, Quick Canoes, Eureka Canoes, etc. represented?
Best regards,
Joost
