Sailing canoe for a beginner builder and beginner sailor
There is a post on the Wooden Boat Forum about a beginner builder and beginner sailor building a Beth as a first build.
Beth Sailing Canoe as First Build?
i have owned three sailing canoes but have not sailed Beth, so I wondered if MIK and some of you experienced Beth sailors could help him out. I took a beating in an Oughtred MacGregor downwind. Completely out of control and had to sail into a mud bank to stop, drop the rig and paddle back covered in mud.
I would think that Beth is too advanced to sail as a beginner, especially down wind.
There seem to be posts about updating the drop in sailing rig and outriggers being fitted to the Quick Canoe?
If that were so, a Quick Canoe with outriggers and drop in sail sounds just the ticket to me.
