Often Ebay sellers exaggerate the postage price and reduce the selling price, giving the same overall price, as Ebay fees are based on selling price only

I agree that $150 is not overcharging on shipping. The $274 I paid for freight was, given the quick delivery time (can't blame the seller for ferry delays ) and the weight of the packages (58kgs total), very reasonable. I was just complaining about the fact that had I bought the router this week instead of last week, I'd have saved $124. (well $112 in real money)

I was going to open up the controller box but it seems to be held together with plastic StripaMatic© screws, the screwdriver slot vanishes when you bring a screwdriver anywhere near it
Still looking for a suitable place to set the router up. I can fit it in the shed but don't fancy running 20 metres of extension cord to power it. Plus it's too cold to sit out in the shed playing with a computer to learn Mach 3 (and Cut2D)

You don't have to have the CNC attached to the computer to play with Mach.

    Default What's inside

I found a suitable screwdriver and opened up the controller box.
Pretty much as expected, switching power supply (appears to be 24v) , 3 stepper drivers and a breakout board.

Mains and low voltage wires run together, no earth connection to the metal parts of the box. I'll fix both of these before I fire it up.

No information about the drivers or BOB. While Yoocnc have a website, there doesn't seem to be anything there in english - not much help from a google translation either.
I tried to find information about the stepper motors but the part number (57 BYGH636-416) got no hits from google.

I sent an email to the seller asking about some documentation for the VFD (HY01D5523B) , they emailed back a copy of the manual for the CNC router, not much useful info in it - unless you need to set up Mach 3 in Chinese . I asked again for the VFD manual and was told was too big to email and gave me a URL they said was for their website but was in fact for eBay. A second request got the same URL supplied.
However a bit of browsing on this forum turned up a link for the VFD.

Next step, fire up the PC and start to get to grips with Mach 3.
