Solved my own problem
I am happy to report I have found and fixed the issues.
If I set PD073 to 133 it works as expected. 133hz is 8000 RPM
PD073 is titled Lower Analog Frequency. It seems to you have to set both PD011 and PD073 to make it work.
Now 8000 RPM in Mach3 equal 0V on the Analog input and gives 8000 RPM
Thanks for your help.

Johney I think you will need to provide more info. It will depend on how you are controlling it via Mach.

I have a Texas MicroCircuits Serial Spindle Speed Controller from Sound Logic.
I have connected
Cw to For
Ccw to Rev
Run to Rst
Vfdg to Acm
Analog to V1
Com & Gnd to Dcm
I have Set the spindel Pulley Min 1000 Max 24000.
In mach3 i can adjust the speed but when i get to 24000 the VFD stops at 3000.

Hi Bob,
I set
PD005 to 400
PD004 to 400
PD003 to 400
PD0144 to 300
After setting up VFD i set PD001 to 1 Mach3 then starts the spindle and it goes to 24000.
When i set PD002 to 1 so that Mach3 can adjust the RPM i only get 3000 even when spindle is set for 24000.

You don't appear to have read the rest of this thread. There are far more things to change than those you have mentioned.
Please read THIS.

Okay Johney,
Disregard my other post, Bob seems to have got you sorted on the right track. Follow the setup and all should work as expected. Sometimes it's hard to read through such a huge thread and get the grasp of what ness to get set.
Yell out if you still are stuck. My suggestion would be to summarize what you have set for others to follow your progress
Good luck

Has anybody taken the face off their VFD and mounted it remotely? It has a ribbon cable with an 10 pin plug each end which could be replaced with a longer one. Where would I find a longer cable is the question.

Hi Chris,
I have my display mounted remotely as the VFD was missing the chip for Modbus connection. I got the cable and plugs from Jaycar.

Thanks Brian, I will give them a go. I have another type of VFD which looks a better thing and it uses an ethernet cable to do the same thing, nice and simple.

Looks a bit Heath Robinsonish to me but I know nothing about these things. Mine is not that type of VFD being the Haunyang and it appears to only need a ribbon cable unless I am misunderstanding the problem. Why did you put it in a case in the first place and then add a fan etc?

HI, I'm Joe. I was previously using Delta VFDs. Never had a problem with them connecting using RS485. And then last week I got an offer for a Chinese spindle along with a controller at "Hard to believe" price on ebay. The spindle is a 2.2kW water cooled and came with a Huanyang HY02D223B VFD.
Thanks to friends here I have set up the VFD and the spindle now works like a charm. But the RS485 comm is starting to make me go bald . My VFD has all the parts (RS485 Chip and the relays n everything. No parts are missing)
I could start, stop, increase/decrease speed using Spindle Talker. But somehow the Mach3 Huanyang Plugin just won't connect.
- .net Framework 3.5 is installed
- plugin is installed as per the manual and Mach3 restarted (It is showing the config window but the parameter values are both 99)
- VFD settings are as folows:
PD001 - 2Does anyone have a condition similar to this where Spindle Talker works but the plugin wont?
PD002 - 2
PD163 - 1
PD164 - 1
PD165 - 3
I have another doubt. Maybe I'm wrong but the drive kinda looks "Legit" . I mean It has stickers with the company name and rating and even a hallmark and also came with the latest Huanyang Manual. Most of my friends who had got VFDs from china earlier got them with just a small sticker saying "2.2kW" and most of them had atleast one part missing. So does this mean this is a newer VFD from the same manufacturer with probably a different firmware?
Please Advice!
Joe!
